It’s remarkable how quiet Sundays can be at the Cascade, compared to Saturdays when workout teams and exercisers are in full force. This morning’s lull of activity combined with the crisp, foggy air made for an ideal cleanup time.
Where do all these leaves come from? Haven’t they all fallen from the trees yet? I suppose not, since two large bags were mightily stuffed with leaves, small branches and various debris.
On the north side, heaps of these leaves had accumulated underneath the two benches while clusters of ivy had swallowed the backs and sides of the benches. Almost no identifiable place for people to sit! After some trimming, tugging, scooping and sweeping, I reclaimed these two seating areas.
Though the skies have been gray all weekend, the blooming yellow irises are a happy reminder that summer will be here before you know it.
And so will our June workday, coming up on Saturday the 6th. In the meantime, enjoy your Memorial Day weekend (hopefully a long one for most of you). We look forward to seeing you in June.
