Our faithful cleanup crew from Walmart.com didn’t let Mother Nature rain on their parade! Adorned in slickers and goulashes and armed with brooms and clippers, they took on the tasks of sweeping stairs and trimming ivy, working around puddles of water and people who had come to work out.
With some brawn and sheer determination, Heidi, Shana and I transported close to 150 gallons of mulch from tip-top Merritt Ave to Lake Shore Ave. (I knew I should have eaten my spinach yesterday; those bags were heavy!)
Thanks to everyone who came out today (from as far away as Concord and Dublin-Pleasanton): Heidi, Jessica, Danielle, Lisa, Cecilia and Shana.
Of course, we dearly missed our coordinator and mentor, Barbara Newcombe, but we know she was there in spirit. We’ll see you next time, Barbara!
That is some special work party. From what it seems they did, they should be elected Uber-Workers of the month. All volunteers are “uber” but “Walmartians” raise the level. Thanks, Ken, for organizing that.
