Keeping Calm and Carrying On

The graffiti artists have been keeping us on our toes these last few weeks, but thanks to Barbara’s anti-tagging solution, all traces have been erased. For now.

Nothing escapes the eyes of Hawk-Eye Newcombe (as Dang and I respectfully refer to her), who instantly noticed the first of the tagging on the tool box. A few douses of the magic potion, and the graffiti simply melted away.

The next tagging came in the form of scribbles on two of the benches at N1-S1 and N2-S2. Once again, the solution and some elbow grease from Dang took care of this. We can only hope this will deter the culprits.

While cleanup continues, so does the good work of our volunteers, and neighboring friend, Burton. He has graciously adopted the Lower Plaza and is fastidiously trimming the lantana and keeping watch over this section, which, as we all know, has been overrun with workout classes. That, in and of itself, is another story and one that we are hoping to address, given their large numbers, early hours and incessant loudness.

I will be meeting with Mark soon to discuss succulents for N3, and the general maintenance of my adopted bed.

Summer is coming to a close (officially) though warm days will continue thanks to our Bay Area weather pattern. So mark your calendars for September 6th, our next official workday.
