Spic and Span

This past Friday, Barbara and I hosted three energetic helpers (Phyllis, James and Jessica) who devoted their day using one of their volunteer days from Walmart.com. Stairs and landings were swept spic and span, flowerbeds were plucked clean of stray grass and weeds, and weary succulents were given a healthy drink of water.

We were also greeted by an exerciser, Yodit, who grabbed a broom and assisted with the sweeping – no prompting needed! What a wonderful treat to have her stop by and help out.

This coming Saturday will be the first work day of November. Expanding the tool box areas will be an important chore. It is still possible we will get another smaller tool box. If the oily sand bucket theory works, our tools may be able to resist rust. We have a supply of clean sand and oil, which is now placed on the opposite side of the tool box, near the Morning Glory.

And good news! As I was typing this post, a package arrived in my mail – our new t-shirts promoting the Cascade. Now for the hundred thousand dollar question – how, where, when to distribute to help raise funds?
